Fred FICHET was born in Paris in1963. Graduated of l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré (Applied Arts) and l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris (Fine Arts). He now lives in New Caledonia.
In 1989, he moved to New Caledonia and taught for thirteen years at the Nouméa School of Art. Then, in 2003, he founded the Art & Actions workshops, where he shares and passes on his passion for drawing and sculpture.
Modelled in clay and then presented in patinated plaster, his works are destined to be cast in bronze. This complex process requires patience, skill and expertise. It is undoubtedly these successive stages that give his sculptures their timeless character.
His creations celebrate, again and again, femininity, a combination of sensitivity, sensuality and power.
